I adopted Toby in December, 2005 and he's been a perfect companion, but on a few occasions he growls at other dogs. There is an Irish Setter, "Johnny", in our neighborhood that Toby took an instant dislike to and he barks and growls every time he sees Johnny. The last time, I could barely hold Toby back.Yesterday Toby growled at another dog at our local dog park - a dog with whom he has played frequently in the past, who wasn't doing anything aggressive at all. My friend, who is also my pet sitter, thought Toby was guarding his ball, but this behavior has to stop.
