We have an almost 5 month old Springer Spaniel puppy called Paddy. He is generally very good. We have taught him to sit, give his paw, lie down, stay etc and he is good on and off the lead - comes back when called etc. The problem I am having with him is that if he is lying down and chewing either a raw hide treat or an edible bone and I go to stroke him he starts to growl and if I don't stop he will snap at me. I'm concerned that I need to get him out of this habit asap. I can't have him being unpredictable and snapping at people but I have no idea how to break this habit he has.
Can you give us any advice?
