Well it didn't go as well as I had hoped ............
We put Wilson in the wrong class ,he is not classed as a puppy now he is over twelve months old and there was no junior class so we entered him in the open class but we were told he should have been in the post grad class with springers of his own ability not the open where he could be up against must better trained springers with lots more ring experience.
Once again Wilson was just "naughty" he would not 'stand' and when I tried to coax him he just kept turning around and just would not 'stack' (stand) . Before the show I was quite confidant that he would go through the motions and maybe give the other competitors a run for their money, he has been doing exceptionally well when practicing at home and in the garden. When training he puts his show lead on and walks to heel the length of the garden, turns at the right time and will hold a good stand while he gets looked at ,so I was confident that he would have a good show but once again he just wont perform in the ring on the day where it matters. I dont know if it is Wilson just being naughty or if he is nervous with the noise and distractions or if I'm just not good enough as a handler.
Wilson training for the show video coming soon Wilson in the show video
The Judge ..Mrs Jean Bryne (ENRYB) was very patient with wilson and he was fine when she was handling him, and she allowed him to just stand naturally while she observed hm , she even came over for a second look. Of course she had the option not to even place him so maybe he did not do to bad after all
here is what she had to say about Wilson and his performance :-
